The freeze-thaw test assesses the resistance of concrete to repeated freezing and thawing cycles. During freezing, water in the material's pores expands, generating internal pressures that can cause microcracks and deterioration. The EN 12390-9 standard defines the test parameters for assessing the durability of concrete in harsh climates.
The SPS07 system consists of an internal stainless steel tank (112L) where the samples are positioned on a perforated support, and an external tank with automatic heating and pumping. The controller manages the filling/emptying cycles according to the set program, ensuring uniform immersion on all surfaces of the specimens for tests compliant with standards.
The chamber can accommodate up to 9 standard concrete cubes measuring 150x150x150mm in the SPS07 immersion system. The perforated support plate is specifically designed to ensure that water reaches all sample surfaces evenly during immersion cycles.
The revoFACE controller allows you to program up to 10 programs with 50 segments each. You can set complex cycles with temperature variations from -25°C to +70°C, humidity from 10% to 98% RH, and immersion/emergence phases. Each segment can last from 1 minute to 999 hours, covering all EN, ASTM, and UNI protocols.

Yes, the chamber can be used as a standard environmental chamber for non-immersion tests by simply removing the SPS07 tank. It remains fully functional for temperature and humidity testing on other building materials, aggregates, tiles, or other sized samples.
The system includes a built-in RO (reverse osmosis) filter that purifies tap water. Alternatively, you can use demineralized water from an optional 16L external tank. Purified water prevents limescale buildup and ensures accurate and repeatable test results over time.
